Smt. Anjali Sardana, Branch Director, Manav Mangal Group of Schools
Respected dignitaries on the dais, distinguished teachers, parents and my dear students,
I am deeply honoured to be here as the Chief Guest for the 7th Teachers Excellence Awards.
I congratulate the Manav Mangal Group for keeping this tradition alive for seven consecutive years – a tradition that puts the spotlight back where it truly belongs on our teachers.
We often celebrate doctors for saving lives, engineers for building nations and scientists for their innovation and discoveries. But it is the teacher who shapes the doctor, the engineer and the scientist long before the world ever knows their names. A good teacher does not just deliver a syllabus; they build character, instil curiosity of mind and give a child the courage to dream. Today, we honour that invisible and invaluable work.
I have been informed that this year, around ten to twelve outstanding teachers from schools, colleges and universities across Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh are being felicitated. This is significant — it tells us that excellence in teaching is not confined to one city or one institution, but is a shared regional strength, and this award rightly celebrates that spirit of the entire Tricity and beyond.
I must also acknowledge the inspiring journey of the Manav Mangal Group, which today runs six educational institutions across the Tricity, touching the lives of thousands of students and families. Institution-building of this scale is not easy; it requires vision, patience and above all, a genuine belief in the power of education to transform society. I would like to congratulate the entire management on this remarkable achievement.
Today, I also extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees. Your dedication, often practised quietly in classrooms with little recognition, is the true backbone of our education system. This award is society’s way of saying: we see you, and we are grateful.
We are living in an age of rapid technological transformation. Artificial Intelligence and digital tools are changing the way knowledge is accessed and delivered. But technology can provide information; it cannot replace the human touch, the empathy, the wisdom and the moral guidance of a good teacher.
As I conclude, I want to make a heartfelt appeal to every teacher present here – continue to be more than instructors. Be mentors, be role models and be the steady hand that guides young minds towards becoming responsible, compassionate citizens. And to the management and parents, I appeal to you to continue supporting and honouring our teaching community, for a nation that respects its teachers is a nation that secures its future.
With these words, I congratulate all the awardees and the Manav Mangal Group for its continued success in the noble cause of education. I also extend my warmest wishes to all the teachers in advance on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, and express my deep appreciation for their dedication and invaluable contribution to society.
Thank you!
Jai Hind!
