    Publish Date : February 8, 2026

Esteemed Members of Maria’s Day School Management, Educationists, Teachers, Other Important Stakeholders and Dear Students
I am delighted to be present here today and I thank the management for the warm invitation extended to me and Hon’ble First Lady of Haryana Smt Mitra Ghosh ji. It is a privilege to join you on this significant occasion at your institution.
This year holds special meaning as you commemorate the Centenary Celebration of Late Shri Sureswar Dutta Ji, a distinguished educationist, social activist, advocate by profession, political leader and above all, a committed humanist.
His lifelong struggle for the cause of the underprivileged and the downtrodden remains deeply relevant even today. I was personally acquainted with his work and ideals. It is heartening to see his legacy being carried forward with such dedication.
    Ladies and Gentlemen,
Schools are not merely centres of academic instruction. I strongly believe that our schools are the foundation upon which an inclusive, just and compassionate society is built.
By nurturing values such as equality, respect, empathy and social responsibility, schools shape young minds to become conscientious citizens of the nation.
Your institution’s commitment to non-discrimination, open access and self-financed education without capitation fees reflects the true spirit of social justice.
With over 3,000 students and as part of a wider group serving more than 10,000 learners across schools and colleges, your institution plays a vital role in extending educational opportunities to students from diverse social and economic backgrounds.
I am pleased to inaugurate the new sports and activity facilities established under the Active CISCE initiative. Holistic development – physical, intellectual and moral – is essential in nurturing balanced individuals.
To the students, I must say: Education is your most powerful tool. Use it not only for personal success but also to uplift society. Let the values instilled here guide you to become responsible, ethical and compassionate citizens.
I wish the institution continued success in its noble mission of nation-building through education.
    Thank You! Jai Hind!
