. Esteemed Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen!
. I welcome you all the launch of Advait Vedant – Ek Anokha Darshan and Samajik Drishtikon Main Dharmkshetra Kurukshetra written by Shri Shankha Chatterjee, my Private Secretary.
Shri Chatterjee is blessed with a multifaceted personality. His parents – Late Shri Swapan Chatterjee and Late Smt Mala Chatterjee – were thoroughly religious and spiritual. They were ever keen and ready to help the needy.
Therefore, Shri Shankha Chatterjee has inherited an inclusive intellectual and spiritual temperament from his great parents, which enriches his outlook and the way he looks at things around in general and spiritual issues in particular.
. His two books, which we have launched today at Haryana Lok Bhawan, are a sincere attempt to explore the world of Advait Vedanta and Kurukshetra with different perspectives, for which I compliment Shri Chatterjee.
. Dear Friends,
Advait Vedanta and Kurukshetra, which is revered as Dharmakshetra, together offer profound insights into humanity’s spiritual evolution. Advait Vedanta, most clearly articulated by Adi Shankaracharya, teaches the non-dual reality that the individual self is identical with the universal consciousness. It dissolves the illusion of separateness, guiding seekers toward self-realisation and inner liberation.
Kurukshetra, the sacred battlefield of the Bhagavad Gita within the epic Mahabharata, symbolises the moral and spiritual struggle inherent in human life. It is here that Lord Krishna imparts timeless wisdom to Arjuna, urging him to act with righteousness, detachment, and clarity of purpose.
Together, Advait Vedanta provides the metaphysical truth of oneness, while Kurukshetra represents the practical arena where this truth must be realised through action.
In the journey of mankind, they underscore that spiritual evolution is not merely withdrawal from the world, but conscious engagement with it – transforming conflict into clarity and duty into a path of self-realisation.
. It is a matter of great pride and admiration to acknowledge Shri Chatterjee for his remarkable literary contributions through his books. With depth, clarity and profound insight, he has illuminated timeless philosophical truths while connecting them meaningfully to contemporary social thought.
I am quite confident that his work will not only enrich intellectual discourse but will also inspire readers to reflect upon the deeper dimensions of life, duty and spiritual understanding.
On this special occasion, I also extend our heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude to all our esteemed guests for gracing the event with their presence. Your encouragement and support lend immense value and dignity to this gathering, making it truly memorable.
Thank You! Jai Hind!
