Smt. Mitra Ghosh, First Lady of Haryana
    Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda
    Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya

Distinguished guests, respected faculty, proud parents and my dear graduating students!
It is a privilege to be present at the convocation of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts, Rohtak—an institution named after the legendary poet-saint Dada Lakhmi Chand, whose legacy continues to inspire generations of artists.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates being conferred their degrees today.
Convocation is not merely a ceremony; it is a celebration of knowledge, creativity and responsibility. As Rabindranath Tagore wisely said, “The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence.” Today, you step into the world as ambassadors of culture and creativity.
India’s higher education system, one of the largest in the world, serves over 40 million students today. Haryana, too, has made remarkable strides—expanding universities, strengthening skill-based education and encouraging innovation. Institutions like yours are shaping not just employable graduates, but creative leaders who influence society through the full spectrum of arts — from performing arts and visual arts to fashion and textile design, film and television, planning and architecture.
I have observed with great pride that artists of Haryana—especially performing artists—are excelling across the country. Haryanvi folk traditions, music, theatre and dance are receiving widespread appreciation. This growing popularity reflects a cultural renaissance—one that must be nurtured with responsibility.
At the same time, we must ensure that while we innovate, we remain rooted. Our performing arts must carry forward Haryana’s unique cultural identity—its simplicity, strength and authenticity. Culture is not static; it evolves. Therefore, I urge you to embrace intercultural collaboration. Let Haryana learn from other traditions, and equally, let the world experience the richness of Haryanvi art. Such exchange strengthens creativity, builds mutual respect, and opens new avenues for global recognition.
We must think beyond our borders — not just national, but global. In an era where Indian culture commands unprecedented admiration worldwide, our performing arts, our weavers’ craft, our filmmakers’ eye, and our architects’ vision all have the potential to stand on international stages. I urge this university to forge partnerships with global arts institutions, participate in international cultural exchanges and position Haryana as a globally respected contributor to the world’s artistic legacy.
Dear graduates — whether you carry a costume, a camera, a blueprint or a stage — you are all storytellers of Haryana’s soul. Carry your roots with pride and your creativity with purpose. The world awaits your art.
I once again congratulate all graduates and wish you success as torchbearers of art, culture and creativity.
    Thank you! Jai Hind !
