. It gives me immense pleasure to be present at the 35th Convocation of Kurukshetra University, an institution that stands as a beacon of knowledge, values and excellence not only in the state of Haryana but in whole of the country.
. At the outset, I extend my heartiest congratulations to Justice Rajesh Bindal on being conferred the degree of Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa). This honour is a recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of law and justice. It is a matter of great pride that he is also a distinguished alumnus of this prestigious University.
. Today is a proud moment, as nearly 2000 students receive their degrees. My heartfelt congratulations to all the degree recipients! This achievement is the result of your dedication, discipline and determination. I also congratulate your teachers, parents and your families for their guidance and support.
. Dear students,
Convocation is not merely the end of an academic journey. It is the beginning of a larger responsibility. You are stepping into a world that is rapidly transforming, full of opportunities, but also demanding innovation, resilience and leadership.
. Our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given the nation a visionary goal, Viksit Bharat 2047, to transform India into a developed nation. This vision is not just a policy framework but a national mission. And the true architects of this mission are young minds like you.
. I am proud to note that in the last five years, Kurukshetra University has scaled higher milestones. It has been accredited with A++ grade, the highest grade given by NAAC.
The University has been forerunner in the implementation of NEP-2020 not only in Haryana but also in whole of the country. For this feat, the University has been conferred with the Platinum award by Govt of Haryana, the only University to receive this award.
. During this period, the University has obtained significant number of patents, started many new academic programmes some of which are in the latest fields of Industrial Revolution 4.0, received good number of sponsored research projects, and has secured outstanding positions in sports and cultural fields at the national level.
I must say that I feel immensely happy with the achievements of the university, and for this I really congratulate Vice Chancellor Prof Somnath Sachdeva and the entire university team.
. The University also has a very rich legacy of distinguished alumni, including Padma Shri, Arjuna, and Dronacharya awardees, esteemed judges of Supreme Court and high court, many renowned industrialists and bureaucrats, well known politicians and famous cine artists. The University has thus significantly enriched the intellectual, cultural and socio-economic fabric of the state.
. Dear students,
As you move forward, I urge you to think beyond conventional career paths. Do not limit yourselves to becoming job seekers, aspire to become job creators. India today offers an unprecedented ecosystem for entrepreneurship; start-ups, innovation hubs, digital platforms, and policy support.
. If you have an idea, pursue it. If you have a vision, build it. Entrepreneurship is not just about business. It is about solving problems, creating opportunities and contributing to nation-building. Even if you choose a professional career, cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset; be innovative, proactive, and fearless in your approach. Remember, the future belongs to those who can create, not just consume; who can lead, not just follow.
. At the same time, never lose sight of your values. Kurukshetra, the land of the Bhagavad Gita, reminds us of the eternal principle that perform your duties with sincerity and integrity, without being attached to the results.
. Dear students,
The journey ahead will bring challenges, but it will also bring opportunities. Face both with courage and confidence. Let your education empower you, your values guide you, and your vision inspire you.
As you step out of this University, carry with you not just a degree, but a sense of purpose; to contribute to Haryana, to contribute to India, and to contribute to the world.
I also take this opportunity to appreciate the Vice Chancellor, faculty members and staff, both teaching and non-teaching, for their guidance and support, that has been instrumental in shaping these young minds, and making this University scale newer heights.
I once again congratulate all the graduates and wish them a bright, successful and meaningful future.
Thank You! Jai Hind!
