I extend my respectful greetings to all of you.
It gives me immense pleasure to be present on the proud occasion of the 6th Convocation of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad.
My heartfelt congratulations to all the students and research scholars who are receiving their degrees today, and special good wishes to those receiving medals and other distinctions.
I also congratulate their parents and teachers. Behind every student’s success lie the sacrifices of parents, the support of families and the guidance of teachers. Today is a day of pride for all of them.
My dear students,
You are graduating from a university named after one of India’s greatest scientists, Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose, whose life embodied scientific curiosity, original thinking and experimentation and is considered the founder of modern science in the Indian subcontinent.
In an era of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Advanced Manufacturing, Renewable Energy and Biotechnology, his spirit of inquiry and innovation is more relevant than ever. I urge every graduate to carry this scientific temperament forward.
Faridabad is an important industrial and entrepreneurial centre of Haryana, with a strong manufacturing base and growing demand for skilled human resources.
The role of JC Bose University, therefore, must extend beyond providing education. It should serve as a strong bridge between industry, research and society and emerge as a leading national centre for industry-academia collaboration, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dear friends,
India is passing through a transformative phase with the goal of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047. This is a collective responsibility, and today’s youth have a particularly important role in fulfilling it.
I appreciate the University’s efforts to promote vocational and skill-based education through its Community College of Skill Development. Integrating academic knowledge with vocational skills can empower young people not merely to become job seekers, but job creators.
The National Education Policy 2020 has given a new direction to our education system. Education must go beyond degrees and create individuals who are knowledgeable, skilled, creative, innovative, entrepreneurial and responsible citizens.
I am pleased that the University has introduced multidisciplinary education, flexible academic options, research-based learning and programmes in emerging areas in keeping with NEP 2020.
However, the true success of the Policy will depend on its holistic implementation. Its benefits must reach every section of society. Universities must work to ensure that no deserving student is deprived of quality education because of financial or social constraints.
In this regard, I urge JC Bose University to strengthen mechanisms for supporting needy students by mobilising resources from its alumni network, industries and private companies through Corporate Social Responsibility funds.
A structured scholarship and educational-support framework, with transparent identification of deserving students, can help ensure that financial hardship does not become a barrier to higher education. Alumni and industry should be encouraged to become partners in the University’s mission of inclusive education and nation-building.
Dear all,
I am happy to learn that the University is expanding programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Robotics, Data Science, Electric Vehicle Technology and Anti-Drone Technology.
Its Central Research Facility, Centres of Excellence and advanced laboratories will open new possibilities for students and researchers. These facilities should lead not only to research publications, but also to patents, start-ups, technology transfer and socially useful innovations.
I have been informed that 3,877 graduates and postgraduates and 68 research scholars are receiving degrees today including 1,798 girl students and 46 women research scholars.
This reflects the growing participation of Haryana’s daughters in higher education. Women-led development is an essential foundation of a developed India, and we must ensure equal opportunities, including opportunities for leadership.
My dear students,
As you leave this University, you carry not only your degrees but also the dreams and sacrifices of your parents. Always remain grateful to your parents and teachers. Let success take you forward, but keep your feet firmly on the ground.
Maintain your bond with this University. Today you are students. Tomorrow you will be its alumni and ambassadors. Wherever you go, enhance its prestige through your conduct, achievements, sense of inclusion and service to society.
The real examination of life begins now. You will experience both success and failure. Remain humble in success, patient in failure, and continue learning throughout life. Even after receiving your degree, remain a student at heart.
Your generation has a unique opportunity to participate directly in building a developed, self-reliant and inclusive India. See this not merely as an opportunity, but as a responsibility.
I have complete faith that the graduates of JC Bose University will make significant contributions in science, technology, industry, administration, entrepreneurship, research and every sphere of society.
Last but not the least, I quote JC Bose: “And here will assemble all those who would seek oneness amidst the manifold.” So your success must bring happiness to your families, pride to your University, and progress to Haryana and India.
Once again, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the degree and medal recipients. I also congratulate their parents, teachers, Vice Chancellor Prof Kumar and the entire University family.
I wish all of you a bright and meaningful future.
Thank You! Jai Hind!
